TRAM SERVICE CHANGES Routes 78/79

Trams on Routes 78/79 will be replaced by buses from the first tram service on Friday 3 February until the last tram service on Tuesday, 7 February 2006.

This temporary alteration is due to council main drain maintenance works taking place in Chapel Street between Toorak Road and Malcolm Street, South Yarra.

The replacement bus service will detour from the tram route via Toorak Road, River Street and Malcolm Street.

Passengers travelling on the replacement bus services will require valid Metcards for their journey.

BUSES TO REPLACE TRAMS ON ROUTE 59 Wednesday 25 January – Sunday, 29 January 2006

This alteration is due to track renewal works along Mt Alexander Road, between Shamrock Street and Lincoln Road.

Replacement bus services will travel along the tram route. All stops along side the work-site in Mt Alexander Road, and all stops along Matthews Avenue will have temporary kerb-side bus stops.

TEMPORARY TRAM SERVICE CHANGES

Due to track renewal works along Spring and Nicholson Streets, between Bourke Street and Victoria Parade, trams on Routes 86, 96 and the City Circle will divert via La Trobe Street from first tram Saturday 11 February until the last tram service on Sunday, 12 February 2006.

Part of these works involve replacing the curve at Bourke and Spring Streets, which will be replaced with rubber boot technology which is designed to help reduce the noise generated by trams as they round the curve.

Tram Route 86 Services will divert via La Trobe Street.

Tram Route 96 Services will divert via La Trobe and Spencer Street.

City Circle Services will operate between Stop 6 at Russell and Flinders Streets and Stop 10 at Victoria Parade and Nicholson Street, travelling via Flinders Street, Docklands, and La Trobe Street.
